Why use a garden designer?
Using an experienced garden designer is a great way of bringing your current space to the next level.
We design outdoor spaces to be used as an extension of your indoor living areas, creating additional living space for you to use in everyday life.
Garden design saves time and money
Good design enables you to visualise your garden before it’s built. Certainty that you’re happy with the design prevents drastic changes during the build process which will save time and money.
Ironing out challenges on paper before the build starts prevents problems arising once your landscapers arrive. It’s easier to work through ideas on paper than it is on site.
Suppliers working from the same plan ensures a smoother, more efficient build process, allowing you to enjoy your new garden sooner, without the stress that can often accompany large scale projects.
Designing a garden is about problem solving
Good design cleverly utilises all available space in your garden to maximise the functionality of your plot.
Do you want a garden that gives you a beautiful and relaxing space to be in as well as a place to store the bins? Garden design is about creative ways to merge stunning gardens with practicality.
Willow Tree Gardens have over 10 years of experience in landscaping, meaning we can provide real advice on materials that will keep your garden looking beautiful for years to come.
Visualise your Garden before it’s built
Once your design is complete you will have a good feel for your space, and it’ll really start to come to life.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
INITIAL MEETING & CONSULTATION
Tom will meet with you on site to discuss your initial plans, find out what’s important to you and get a feel of the available space.
This involves a more detailed site visit where accurate measurements and levels will be taken and the ground and soil quality will be analysed to prevent challenges further down the process.
An initial detailed plan will be put together based on the information gathered at your site survey. At this point we can look in more depth at some proposed materials and discuss pros and cons of each option.
Once you’ve had time to look through the plan and materials, we will discuss your initial feedback before proceeding with the next step.
With even more information and the feedback from the concept designs, a final detailed plan with all material suggestions will be put together. This will include a detailed construction drawing for challenging parts of the garden build. All plans will be given to potential landscapers to tender for the build, making quote comparison simple and straight forward. A scope of works will accompany any drawings which will provide even more written detail to the plans.
We are also able to provide detailed planting plans for the garden. Well thought out planting really brings a garden to life.

"Tom and his team were so professional and friendly. We barely knew they were there with very little disruption. They kept us informed of progress and we’re so happy with the end result. They did a great clean up before they left too. Would highly recommend WTG."

"Tom is really fantastic! We had him in to lay a patio in our back garden, and he did a fabulous job, and managed to squeeze us in so it was finished for my birthday party!
He was so good we had him back again to do our front garden, redoing the path, and laying a bricked area. Again he did a fantastic job, very happy with the quality of the work, and he is a lovely man too.
Would definitely use him again for any future garden projects. Highly recommended."

"Tom has helped to transform our back garden. His brief was to level the garden, install a drainage system, build a raised patio with additional paving and lay artificial grass. At our first meeting he was punctual, interested in our ideas and his quote was both detailed and more importantly accurate. We were encouraged by his attention to detail, all work was completed in the projected time frame and he has done a fantastic job, highly recommend him."

"Tom Weir from Willow Tree Gardens gave us a quote earlier this year for completely renovating our back garden. We wanted porcelain slabs and from the research we had done it was not like laying normal patio slabs a different technique and added to that we also wanted a couple of curves.
Tom came to our home and spent time understanding what we required in terms of the patio and gazebo installation. We also wanted the existing grass removed and the garden levelled out and new turf. We also required railway sleepers to edge a couple of boarders.
We received his quote along with a couple of others and we engaged him and the transformation started mid August.
Tom and his team commenced work making sure materials were delivered when required and they kept the site very clean and tidy.
The result of our garden was even better than we we could had imagined. We took on board some changes he recommended of which he was absolutely right.
Tom and his team we very polite hardworking and respectful of our property and we would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone."
