A Low Maintenance Garden

A previously unusable garden made practical, functional and family friendly in Haywood Village, Weston Super Mare

This large muddy garden in Haywood Village, North Somerset was in need of a complete overhaul before we started. A huge amount of soil needed to be excavated and moved to make this garden a level usable space for this young family.

Once the garden was levelled off with a digger, we began to bring in all the aggregates for the base of the patio and artificial grass areas. A riven kandla grey sandstone patio was laid, which was a perfect seating area in the suntrap of a garden.

We next built a raised decking in the top corner of the garden which overlooks the whole garden.

A retaining sleeper wall was built to give us another level to the garden. Within the sleeper wall were a set of steps leading to higher level of artificial grass.

Once all the hard landscaping was completed, a fine dust was brought into the garden to get the base layer for the artificial grass nice and smooth.

Huge rolls of good quality artificial grass were rolled into place and fixed down.

To keep it a low maintenance garden some limestone gravel was laid onto weed control to finish off a few areas. A huge amount of hard work went into this one and the finished result is a family friendly garden that can be used all year round.
